Best Ab Exercises

January 20th, 2009 : Category: Best Ab Exercises

Getting the six-pack abs that are so often portrayed on bodybuilders in magazines is something that most people desire, but not many achieve. The benefits of improving one’s abs are many: it would build up their endurance and their core strength, and obviously make your mid section attractive.

5 Most Effective Abdominal Exercises. Booklet created by Experts (free download)

Though there has been talk about food supplements and drugs helping to tone the ab muscles, the plain fact of the matter is that a regular workout is the best to keep the muscles in the abdomen intact. Thus, good nutrition and a carefully planned routine is essential for ab training. Such routines could have many different exercises, and some of the best ab exercises are shown below.

Guidelines for the Abdominal Exercise

The are many exercises for the abdominal muscles, but the best ab exercises that you can perform depend on your abilities. It is not necessary that all the exercises be done, but only the ones that the person is comfortable with. As one progresses with the exercises, the number of repeats of each can slowly be increased along with the amount of time spent on each in order to get the maximum of these routines.

Given are a few of the best ab exercises along with the instructions:

Side Bends

Begin the exercise by standing with the feet stretched apart about shoulder width with the knees slightly bent. Your right hand should now be holding a dumbbell. The left hand must now be raised to the back of the head whilst bending towards the right. Now make sure the dumbbell reaches the right knee. Return back to the original stance at the beginning, and repeat the process. It might be a good idea to try the other side now, in order to keep the routine balanced.

Medicine Ball Sit Ups

This exercise begins with the person lying flat on while bending both knees while holding a five-pound medicine ball closely to their chest. Another person needs to stand at their feet. The first person would then flatten the arch on their back as they push the floor. This position must now be held for a while. Next, the body must curl up and the medicine ball thrown to the partner. Make sure the crunch is not released until the ball gets thrown back. Upon catching the ball, the person must return to his or her initial position.

The Bicycle

This routine starts off by lying on one’s back while the knees and hips are bent at 90 degrees. The hands must be placed behind the neck while the chest is curled over the ribcage. Now one must begin to pedal with their feet, as if imitating riding a bicycle. This should be done slowly, while keeping the pose and hips still.

Bent Elbow Plank

This particular exercise focuses mainly on a muscle known as the transverse abdominis. The person performing the exercise must lie on their stomach and lift themselves onto their forearms and toes. Simultaneously, begin contracting the abdominals while keeping the spine straight. This pose should be held for ninety seconds before resting and repeating.

These are but a best ab exercises there are to help one get that often photographed bodybuilder look. What’s more, they don’t just make a person look good, but also makes them study and healthy.

Most Effective Ab Exercises

March 9th, 2009 : Category: Best Ab Exercises

What are the most effective ab exercises? Well, to be completely frank, 70% of people are asking the wrong question! This is because 70% of people who are reading this will be overweight, and they believe ab exercises will allow them to trim their ‘beer belly’ - WRONG!

Bicep Workout Blog

Unfortunately, many people fall into this misconception because of a bunch of false advertising on ‘as seen on tv’ channels, which will readily tell you that you can lose excess body fat by carrying out 5 minutes of ab exercises daily. What they fail to tell you is that they are lying - and in fact there are only two ways of burning that fat - cardio exercise, and reduction of overeating, which in combination allows you to burn your unwanted body fat. Period.

For these reasons, I highly recommend you to the following website, which fosues on halting overeating (yes, this is the beginning of the solution):
